Dearness allowance 2010 increased 8 percent -DA for central government January 2010

Today the cabinet announced an eight percent increase in the dearness allowance of government employees and pensioners for 2010.


Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni said that – ” The cabinet approved an eight per cent increase in the dearness allowance of government employees and dearness relief of pensioners with effect from Jan 1, 2010,

Ambika also told that this would cost an whooping 6,969.36 crore yearly.

This increment is also considered very high as per previous increment. So it will definitely improve life style of people who were eagerly awaiting for this DA increase for january 2010.

Today Tamil Nadu Finance Minister K. Anbazhagan has presented the state budget for 2010-2011. Well overall, this budget has brought no extra burden for a common man of Tamil nadu.

The highlights of this budget is no new taxes, reduced tax rates on many items and has announced the creation of a separate department for the differently abled people.



He said in the assembly while presenting budget about the total revenue. The total revenue receipts of the government for 2010-11 are estimated at Rs.63,091.74 crore and the total revenue expenditure is estimated at Rs.66,488.19 crore. Accordingly, the revenue deficit is estimated at Rs.3,396.45 crore.

Well he also said that main deficit was caused due to the implementation of Sixth pay commission. He also announced many welfare measure for Agriculture and Co-operation, Animal Husbandry,
Irrigation and Flood control, Price Rise and Public Distribution System,
State Autonomy, Sethusamudram Project, Welfare of Sri Lankan Tamils, Law and Order, Courts, School Education, Higher Education, Health and Family Welfare, Electricity, Industries, Small Industries, Information Technology, Development of Roads, Transport, Housing, Municipal Administration, Drinking Water,Rural Development, Welfare of Women
Welfare of Children and several other issues.

One of the most expensive Bentley Sedan – Mulsanne launched in India today. The car was unveiled by Sir Richard Stag, Britain’s high commissioner to India and Chris Buxtonm who is Bentley’s regional director in a ceremony held at British High Commissioner’s residence in New Delhi today.



This model is one of the costliest car that ever hit the Indian roads before. The price set for this model of Bentley fetches whooping 2.9 crores.

Two Indians Mukesh Ambani and Lakshmi Mittal in top 5 of World’s wealthiest people

As per forbes list of top billionaires of the world, In top five – two Indians names are there. One is Mukesh Ambani and second one is Lakshmi Mittal. Mukesh Ambani is at rank 4 while Lakshmi Mittal at five.

Top threes position has been grabbed by Carlos Slim Helu with a toital asset of $53.5 billions while at second position is here is Bill Gates with $53 billion. Third spot has been grabbed by Warren Buffett with a net worth of $47billions.


 

Fourth place in world and first in India has been captured by Mukesh Ambani with $29 billion. He is the owner of Peroleum, oil and gas refineries and has entered in many sectors of India. He is also the owner of IPL Mumbai Indians.

Fifth Place has been captured by Lakshmi Mittal with total of $28.7 billion. He is the owner of steel giant Arcelor Mittal Group. Also the London’s most richest person. He is better known as steel tycoon.

Carlo Slim Helu is world’s richest man 2010 beating Bill Gates and Warren Buffett

Mexican tycoon Carlo Slim Helu is the world’s richest man as per forbes.com. And he has beaten Bill Gates and Warren Buffett this year 2010 to become the world wealthiest person.



He has various telecom holdings, including giant mobile outfit America Movil. As per forbes, Slim Helu wealth worth estimated $53.5 billion up $18.5 billion in 12 months. Shares of America Movil, of which Slim owns a $23 billion stake, were up 35% in a year.

 

This massive amount puts him ahead of second and third richest person of earth i.e. Bill Gates and Warren Buffett. For the three consecutive years, the top position has been captured by three different people.

As per forbes, Telecom tycoon who pounced on privatization of Mexico’s national telephone company in the 1990s becomes world’s richest person for first time after coming in third place last year.

Bill gates is at second position at $53 billion with a increase of $13 billion from last year as shares of Microsoft rose 50% in 12 months.

At third place, Warren Buffett has a whooping $47 billion. This America’s favorite investor up $10 billion in past 12 months on surging Berkshire Hathaway shares.

India Mukesh Ambani grabbed the fourth position with amount of $29 billion. ndia’s most valuable company, recently bid $2 billion for 65% stake in troubled Canadian oil sands outfit Value Creations. Fifth place has been occupied by Lakshmi Mittal with amount of $28.7 billions.

Women’s reservation bill passed by Rajya Sabha yesterday

The historic Women’s reservation bill ensuring 33% reservation have been passed by Rajya Sabha yesterday. This one third reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies finally passed this tuesday after lots of drama.

Despite the threat of withdrawal of support from Samajwadi party and Rashtriya Janta Dal, this bill was passed by more than 2/3rd of the majority.



In total 186 votes were in favour, one in against giving a clear passage for the implementation of this Women’s reservation bill.

 

Leader of opposition party Arun Jaitley and Prime Minister Sri Manmohan Singh passed told that this is a historic and momentous day for them.

Karat said that – ” The women’s reservation bill will ensure that many women of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Classes, poor women and Muslim women would benefit from this historic achievement.

Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh told that – “we have also to recognise that our women have faced enormous difficulties in our country. Our women faced discrimination at home, there is domestic violence, they face discrimination in equal access to education, healthcare, there are many such things. All these things have to end if India were to realise its full potential.”

Rajasthan budget 2010-11 presented by state government- Budget Highlights

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today presented State Budget for financial year 2010-2011. He presented the budget for the second time in his second tenure.

The budget mainly focussed on welfare of common man. But some of the things definitely got costlier which was against expectations of a common person.



Some of the key features of the state budget of Rajasthan were – 400 Crore alloted for Urban development in State, Ration for BPL Families at 2 Rs/Kg, AICTE based payment for Polytechnic colleges lectures, 777 Crore for water supply schemes and 12 crore for drinking water.

 

Other major highlights of this budget presented by state Government was 11424 Crore for energy development, 1851 crore for Road development, Five new ITI for minorities and 2 crore for Madarasa’s, SC/ST hostel will be increased to 50 from 25, 25000 gas connections to schools, Three lakh Mitrik Ton DAP for farmers AND MANY MORE.

Special issues that were taken care of were rural sector development, Women-oriented plans, focus on agriculture and etc.
