Serena Williams vs Vera Zvonareva in Wimbledon women finals

Serena Williams will meet Vera Zvonareva of Russia in Wimbledon women’s finals. Today in the semifinal match Vera Zvonareva defeated unseeded Tsvetana Pironkova of Bulgaria in three sets 3-6 6-3 6-2 .

21st seeded Vera started slow and lost the first set to Pironkova, but from second set onwards she fired right away and won the next sets by 6-3 and 6-2. Pironkova is 82 seeded in world ranking.

After defeating Pironkova, Zvoneareva entered her first finals of Wimbledon women’s singles. In the first set onwards Pironkova was very attacking and this led vera to play defensive but after losing first she never hesitated to attack her and mark her victory.

So in final match of Wimbledon Vera is going to meet world top player Serena Williams. Last year Zvonareva withdrew from Wimbledon owing to injuries, but later this year she joined at 21st rank and playing better like top 10 players in women’s tennis.

Soderling vs Nadal live score – Nadal won two sets

The great finale match of French open Tennis 2010 is going on at present and the finale is being played between Robin Soderling and Rafael Nadal. Rafael Nadal is the 2nd seeded and Soderling is the 5th seeded in this french Open 2010.



Nadal has won the initial tow sets. Nadal won initial two sets by 6-4, 6-2 and Soderling looks struggling throughout the match to make it comeback.

Marcos Baghdatis defeated Roger Federer at BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells

Marcos Baghdatis beat world’s best Roger Federer at BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells this tuesday. Baghdatis took out Federer, 5-7, 7-5, 7-6 (4), in 2 hours 22 minutes in the third round and won his first match against Federer.



Yesterday 33rd rank Marcos Baghdatis defeated world Rank 1 Roger Federer and kissed the ground for his achievement while Roger Federer left the ground with his down head and upset face.

Since 2006, at a final in Rome against Rafael Nadal, Federer lost a match for the first time where he held a match point.

After conquering the Tennis God, Marcus Baghdatis said – It’s the best win of my career. “I lost a lot of matches against those top guys, and it’s a relief to win. It’s a great moment for me.

He won his first match against the world’s number one of his seven meetings so far. Federer when asked about this – He replied- “It was one of those matches that just happens, “I didn’t play terrible. It just happens.”

Whatever happened at the ground, it was totally a miracle after all and hoping that world has got another best as Marcos Baghdatis.

Roger Federer won Australian Open tennis 2010

Today at the Rod Laver Arena Roger Federer again proved his might by defeating Andy Murray in straight three sets. He defeated Andy Murray by 6-3, 6-4 , 7-6. And this victory brought him his 16th Grand Slam title.

After this huge and easy win, Federer has become the fifth man to win four or more Australian Open titles, joining Roy Emerson (six), Andre Agassi, Jack Crawford and Ken Rosewall.

Roger Federer shattered the dream of Andy Murray of becoming first British to win Big Grand slam title since Fred Perry won the US Open in 1936.

At no instance in the match Federer found difficulty to make his way through. it was expected that Murray will give a good upset to World Rank 1, but Federer as usual thrashed him in three easy sets.

Federer won a total of 116 points in the match while Murray only managed 100 points in the whole course of the match. Also Federer maximum speed of serve was 5 km less than Murray, but nevertheless Murry didn’t succeededand Federer won with great ease.

Leander Paes won Australian open mixed doubles finals

In mixed doubles finals, that ended just few minutes back from now, leander paes with his partner Cara Black from Zimbabwe won the Mised doubles finals championship.They defeated Ekaterina Makarova of Russia paired with Jaroslav Levinsky of Czech. They marked an easy win against both by 7-6, 6-3.

Paes and Black Pair was top seeded in this event and they did as per expectations. This win gave Paes and Black another grand slam title for him as well as for India. Paes has a total 46 doubles titles including six Grand Slam doubles and 5 Grand Slam mixed doubles crowns.

Cara Black also reached the Women’s doubles finals paired with Liezel Huber where she was easily defeated by Williams sister.

Leander Paes told that they were able to have 45 minutes practice before match and that was all required to warm up and sync with his partner Cara Black.

After winning this 11th Grand Slam title Paes equals the record of Mahesh Bhupathi being the India’s most successful player in Grand Slam Tennis.

In today’s match, Paes and Cara Black broke their opponents’ serve five times, but had their serve broken just two times.

Winner of Australian Open 2010 – Federer or Murray

The obvious question arising here- Can Murray do this? Can he beat World Number one Federer, Can he win Grand Slam this time. Well Andy Murray simply answer this question – My best can beat World Rank one Roger Federer at Rod laver Arena.

Of course, several other players like Rafael Nadal, Del Potro has proved that Federer is not invincible, so why not Murray can beat him. The way he almost thrashed defending champion Nadal in quarterfinals is a sure example.

Going per the past performance, Federer is the hot favorite this time. As this will be his 22nd Grand Slam Final while Murray will face his second one. Murray told in an interview yesterday that – I have played well against him in the past,” Murray said, “and I have always felt like I have a chance against him. I haven’t felt like he’s going to blow me off the court. I think I am better now than I was four or five months ago
So lets see whether he will be able to prove his might or not against world greatest star player Roger Federer.

Murray vs Federer live – Australian Open men’s finals

Tomorrow world will witness one of the biggest mega event of the year i.e. Australian open 2010 Men’s Finals.  And in this final, Roger Federer will take on Andy Murray at Rod laver Arena. And it will be the end of scintillating battle of Tennis fought between every gladiators out there.

A total of 126 players participated in the series and two are going to see the finals – Andy Murray and all time favorite Roger Federer. Federer will be appearing tomorrow in his 22nd finals. He is appearing in 8th consecutive final and overall 5th Australian Open finals, Andy Murray will be appearing in his second Grand Slam’s final.

If Murray wins this final match , he will become ( 22 years old) 13th youngest Australian Open Champion. Judging by the previous performance in the series, Federer won all of the matches with much ease, while Murray had to give a huge fight with many opponent in his way. But the fact that he almost thrashed Nadal ( World No. 2) will give him much comfort and relieve.
