Railway Minister Mamta Banerjee at present might be in dilemma regarding the Indian railway Budget 2010. Whether the budget will be in favor of Common man or will it go more for revenue purpose.

Major expectations from Railway Minister is to keep passenger fares untouched so that it will be under reach of a common man.

People of West Bengal has much more expectations from her and lets see whether there is any proposal for new train routes or any increase frequency of running trains.

At present Indian Railway moves 14 million passengers with 7,000 trains daily from 6,906 stations leaving cargo trains. So question is that, whether any increase will be marked or will it be steady at present.

At present as per ministerial data, the total goods earnings grew 8.47 percent and the total passenger revenue earnings were up 7.40 percent. So definitely from this angle, it seems that freight charges will increase more profit and decrease in passenger fairs will increase people loyalty.

During the inaugural address by the Prime minister Manmohan Singh in the meeting with the chief minister of all states, he raised many issues and provided many assurance today.

He told that much attention will be provided to the internal security, but also state should act proactively in this. It is the responsibility of both Central and State government regarding this internal security issue.

Here is few extract of full speech of Manmohan Singh at security meet today.

All of you are aware of the major threats to our security. Hostile groups and elements operate from across the border to perpetrate terrorist acts in our country. The State of Jammu & Kashmir bears the brunt of the acts of these groups. There is insurgency and violence in the North-East. Many States are affected by Left-Wing extremism, which I have in the past referred to as the greatest threat to our internal security. There are also those trying to divide our society on communal and regional lines. Each one of these threats requires a strong effort, determination, hard work and continuous vigilance to tackle. These threats to our society, to our polity and our country constitute a challenge that we must and we shall meet effectively at all costs.

When we met last time in August 2009, I had mentioned the steps we had taken to improve our internal security environment between January and August. These included the setting up of four regional hubs of the National Security Guard at Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Hyderabad and the setting up of the National Investigation Agency. Since then we have made further progress.

He also asked Chief Ministers to create Special Intervention Units in their States to enhance the speed and decisiveness of the Quick Response Teams and to make full use of the scheme formulated by the Central Government to assist the Special Branches of States in strengthening their intelligence capabilities.

He also raised the issue of deficiency of policemen in different areas of country and promised to resolve in near future.
