Goa movie review and Tamizh Padam review – tamil movie rocks

Well this week tamil movie industry saw two new release as Goa and Tamizh padam. Well having a good story line both movie are expected to hit the big screen.

First have a look on Film Cast followed by review

Goa

Cast: Jai, Premji Amaran, Vaibhav, Sampath and Sneha
Director: Venkat Prabhu

Review – This movie is typical masala movie which will be liked mainly by youths as it contains stuffs like wine, girls, love, fun without involving much seriousness in it. The film is inspired from a real life incident which took place at Goa, in which a man was charged for raping a British teenager. Well as all youths want to do that thing ( marry white girl) in their age group, so they are in same hunt. They visit to Goa, want to enjoy their life and marry a white woman and settle abroad. But the real twist comes, when they are trapped in the some conspiracy involving all three of them for her death. The story begins from fun, enjoyment with a good comedy in beginning and the story diverts towards a thriller end.
Good acting not involving much essence of good direction. but seems close to realistic. Looks similar story line as of Hindi movie Jail where Neil Mukesh trapped without committing a crime.

Tamizh padam movie

Cast: Siva, Disha Pandey, MS Baskar, Manobala
Director: C.S. Amudhan

Review- Coming to tamizh padam, its a comedy movie which again shifts towards emotional attyachaar at end for love. This movie is a spoof on commercial mass movies that follow the same formula. Hero will fall in love with a rich girl, however she is out of reach of him and definitely gets her and then fights with her father who is a damn politician for the sake of his ethics.

Well as per the story, plot and acting , both deserves a rating of 3 star.

  5. Goa is good to watch.idhu varai song rocks as yuvan always rocks.Goa film ending is really good and you expect to laugh at many scenes and definitely shout at the end of the film and leave the theatre happily. But certain factors like gay friendship makes you shy(hate) very much and certain long scenes make you boring at times.Though Goa is worth watching

    Comment by bala — January 30, 2010 @ 11:42 pm

  19. This is the worst movie of the year! It rightly deserves a A but nothing there except this bloody guys (venkat and jai ) enjoying their dream run with women and liquor in Goa. How could soundraya do this stupid movie with them is a question. Who knows they really want a flop to cover a loss for the earning of rajini in yenthiran.

Now that we can understand why no distributors are ready to invest on this.. Guys its not worth to even spend some time on this scrap movie.. Just wait for the cd if you desperate to watch.. as you can atleast fast forward it.

  21. Have Seen Both of them….I Think Tamil padam is better than Goa,,
    About Goa,
I thought Thamil padam was a spoof, but goa Was no less….a lot of scenes ,music from our old movies. It was enjoyable..but,,,u miss somethin.Obviously a” script”,it leaves us no where, just wondering “what are they trying to do”..I honestly a lot more from venkat prabhu. His preious movies had a story line on which humour was a plus,,but goa weighs only on humour which eventually becomes boring.”DISAPPOINTING” is the rit word.
    Thamil Padam
A spoof well made.I thouroughly enjoyed it.it was fun all the way.Shiva has done a commendable job.A Good attempt i guess.

    Comment by Rajesh — January 31, 2010 @ 5:23 am

  23. I have seen Chennai28 and Saroja and I had lot of expectations when I went to see this movie…One of the reasons, I liked the previous ones was because they were so realistic….I hated Goa; it had a totally unbelievable story…with the usual masala stuff…nothing like his previous ones…

    Comment by jiji — January 31, 2010 @ 6:33 am

  24. Goa = mokkai

    Comment by sara — January 31, 2010 @ 6:14 pm

  25. Worth to watch Goa…Its definitely going to be a big hit….But u should not think about logic in the film..Just u can laugh throughout the movie…

  26. Goa?……………..Sneha sexy………………..

    Comment by Guruprasad R — January 31, 2010 @ 7:15 pm

  27. Tamil padam is gud. Vijay has been crucified to death in this movie. Films like this should be encouraged only then over and stupid buildup actors like vijay will calm down. Hope u all agree.

    Comment by Emen — January 31, 2010 @ 8:18 pm

  28. Goa sucks. Venkat prabhu sucks. Goa can lead many youngsters in a wrong way. Arvind & Sampath sequences are really embarrassing. Plz don’t support Goa. Even Venkat can’t see this movie with his whole family. Venkat has made this film only to promote his brother PremG. Nothing more than that. Goa, a real sucker.

    Comment by Jayaram — January 31, 2010 @ 8:26 pm

  29. There is a background music in Goa rite..
The one for vaibhav, itz actually from a 80’s movie..
May i noe wat song is that..?

    Comment by Avatar — January 31, 2010 @ 10:16 pm

  30. Goa rockssssssss… of course ther is no story.. but i hardly found any moment where i cant laugh through the whole length of the movie… Not much of explicit sexual content… Sampath’s remarks about his relationship made me laugh again than observe it in a serious manner..
Venkat does a hat trick with goa 🙂

    Comment by Thala — January 31, 2010 @ 10:43 pm

  31. GAYS… SORRY GUYS,THE REASON Y I HATE THIS MOVIE IS NOT ONLY FOR THE GAY CONCEPT….

DOSTANA IS HIT BECAUSE OF HIS SCREENPLAY.

THERE IS NO SCREENPLAY IN THE GOA EPISODE…IT’S JUST STUPID.

THIS TIME VENKAT PRABU IS IN OVER CONFIDENCE,HE SPOOFED 1980 TAMIL CINEMA’S CLICHE,BUT HE IS SERIOUSLY DONE A AIRPORT CLIMAX.

    MAINLY LOVE SCENES ARE TORTURING…

IN HIS PREVIOUS MOVIES,STORY AND SCREENPLAY IS VERY CLEAR AND COMEDY IS EXCELLENT.

BUT IN GOA COMEDY IS ALSO WORKED IN PARTS ONLY,NOT FULLY.

ACCODING TO MY OPINION,IN PREVIOUS MOVIES SHIVA IS THERE,IAM NOT TELLING THAT SHIVA IS THE ONLY REASON,BUT HE IS THE MAJOR STRENGTH IN THAT MOVIES.I CAME TO THIS CONLUSION AFTER SEEING “TAMIZH PADAM”.

GOA IS DEFINELTY A FLOP…THERE NO DOUBT THAT,MAY BE IN CHENNAI THEATRES IT CAN RUN FOR 4 WEEKS,OTHER AREAS NOT ABOVE 1 WEEK.

    Comment by Vikram — February 1, 2010 @ 5:29 pm

  34. plz dont watch this movie, waste of money and waste of time,i think vekat prabhu is thinking that tamil audiences are fool who will make this film a hit, i know film is a biggest flop of all time, and soundarya rajnikanth has incurred a great loss, plz dont watch this movie, movie is pathetic and horrible

    Comment by pandiyaraj — February 1, 2010 @ 7:54 pm

  35. Tamizh Padam Rocks all the way.Not even a single scene went without Laughing and its Comedy all the Way.The Movie sans has logic but the Comedy makes You sit back and You Would really feel that why should there be a Story Line. Guys, Go Watch it because it makes You Smile when You come out of the theatres.
Thamizh Padam You Rock!!!!!!!!!!You have set a perfect example as to how movies have to be made.

A Brilliant Effort and Shiva is Wonderful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!All Cheers to him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep Rocking Shiva……….We need more Films from You like this

  36. Goa.. A Complete Entertainer:- i watched this movie two times so far..i’d say, money worthy movie. This movie really reminds me the movie HANGOVER which was the best comedy movie i ever seen in english, i would say GOA is just a HANGOVER in Tamil. I greatly appreciate Venkat Prabhu, who was brillantely handled the Screenplay without a strong of story line. Above most them commented for GAY scene, Com’on people GROW UP, these were common nowadays, even in India. U ppl may wolud have enjoyed, if they showed u a fuck scene between Vaibhav & Sneha. All these gays scene were shown long back in English movies i:e even on 80s & 90s. Ppl please u should open enough to accept the new trends coming up in Our movies as well. Hence, ppl in North, they still consider southies aren’t trendy and westernd. Finaally, Goa is better than Chennai 28 but not Saroja. (MY Opinion) Go Go…Goa, SUPER HIT.

    Comment by JAI — February 2, 2010 @ 10:00 am

  37. well, whats wrong with gay? i am not gay but i ahve many friends who are gays. they are same as us. just coz its not accepted in india it doesn’t mean, everyone has to hate gays. why don’t u twats accept gays. they are same as us. being gay is their decision and we have to accept it. i can undedtand that, you guys are from india nd so on, live in a bubble, u don’t come out of it. i am liivng in england nd i tell u what, here in UK we accept gays, we treat them as one of us. i am actually glad venkat actually brought a movie with gays in it, then people might start accepting them. by no9t accepting them, u r alineating them,. y? the are same as us. if only reason for you to hate Goa is because of gays then i would say, u r not gonna b big in u r life. purely coz u r accepting other commuities nd u r not respecting other’s decisions. i think goa is very good. i didn’t go to goa expecting a story or anything. i know venkat will produce comedy nd he has done it very well. i don’t see the problem with it at all. this is a teenage movie nd he fulfilled my expectations.

  39. goa is a neat film. i saw the movie twice..i like acting skills of jai, vaibav, prem, piyaa n sneka n of course a foreign girl. sambath acts very well. but how far it reaches audiance? nobody knows. yuvan very nice..ethu varai song n ezhezhu thalamuraikkum .. theme music is nice. gay scenes portrayed well in goa.. but since this is 1st time in tamil films,, we can watch once… but love scenes between piyya n jai awesome .. sneka s negative shade acting is peculiar n very very nice .. its unusual…….
tamil padam is full time lollu sabaha. but our tamil fans will like tamil padam only. that evry body knows.. bcaz all are mokkai jokes. good things are ooo mahaseeya song n family song, shivas classical dance.,most of the time shiva is expressionless like our heroes..usually tamil audiance watch commercial films.. tamil padam is also a commercial film, by kidding others.. but they themself doing the same thing till the end
verdict : goa is better …. full time comedy.. except gay love which may be unwanted
tamil padam – kidding tamil fims n they themself doing the same with mokkai jokes…tamil regular typical audiance accept tamilpadam only…

  40. Tamizh Padam really rocks with its unique theme and bold message where it pokes fun at the over build-up actors in tamil movies like vijay, simbu, etc.

    Comment by Shiv — February 9, 2010 @ 9:32 am

  41. Goa
    a good attempt nonetheless…
loved the english throughout the movie…

i’d say the “team”‘s reputation is intact, but has not gone up…
    vaibhav – lot of potential
jai – as usual appealing to the crowds
prem ji – well it was just too much build up… dunno the intentions of venkat whether to spoof other tamil films or promote his bro (as jayaram said)

gay concept is quite a serious issue… a very light potrayal of the thing was appaling
sampath’s acting though definitely requires an applause…

bottomline : you want your mind to be free, want a sound laugh, want all problems in your world out of the picture for 2 hours(1 and a half hours rather cos only the first half served the purpose) GOA is the movie to watch….
    3 stars
