CWG 2010 opening ceremony live streaming at DD National by Prasar Bharati

Filed under: sports — admin @ 2:25 am

Commonwealth games will go live from today onwards. The opening ceremony of Commonwealth games will commence from 7 PM today onwards. The main event will start from tomorrow October 4.

This time Prasar Bharati is the only official broadcaster of Commonwealth games. Prasar Bharati has moved to high court to prevent private channels from using unauthorized footage of the event.

This means that only Doordarshan channels will have rights to broadcast any event or part of the event in their channels. Prasar Bharati have filed an injunction suit against 24 broadcasters.

They have also sent notices to many TV Channels against any illegal telecast of its footage and they have claimed if done so then this will be violation of copyright laws.

So it means the maximum footage of this CWG will be broadcasted on only DD network channels. SO it means that live streaming of CWG 2010 opening ceremony will be on air only in DD News. As this is the only site having live streaming news under Doordarshan. Other Channels are fighting for the same issues. You can watch DD News live here http://www.ddinews.gov.in/.

  8. Every Indian would feel proud of it.

Event was wonderful but quite expensive.

Helium baloon cost 40 Crores. Spending money like this by handful of people who have not earned it is painful.

The money saved and spent on poor people of India would have been appreciated.

  10. TO,
    Whomsoever it may concern,
I am Thomas and I am just an ordinary citizen who cannot afford to come a long way from Kerala to Delhi and watch the CWG inauguration ceremony. I do really appreciate for the efforts you have put in telecasting the LIVE programme of the ceremony. I really liked it and thanks for the live telecast of the programme.

BUT I AM SAD, SORRY AND ANGRY TO SAY THAT THE ADVERTISEMENTS BETWEEN A LIVE AND HISTORIC EVENT LIKE THIS SWALLOWED THE EVENT AND THE BEAUTY OF WATCHING A LIVE EVENT. THIS IS NOT ONLY THE CASE OF ME, BUT PEOPLE WHO DEPEND ON TELEVISION FOR WATCHING THE PROGRAMME AND THE WHOLE OF INDIA EXCEPT FOR THE 60,000 PEOPLE CAME TO THE STADIUM CANNOT DENY THE FACT THAT SHOWING ADVERTISEMENTS IN BETWEEN A PROGRAM LIKE CWG INAUGURATION GOT US ANGRY. AN EXAMPLE CAN BE CLEARLY MENTIONED. DURING THE FINAL STAGES OF THE INAUGURATION, WHEN A TRAIN JOURNEY WAS HELD SHOWING THE GLIMPSES OF THE INDIAN RURAL CULTURE, IN BETWEEN THAT JOURNEY, THERE WAS ADVERTISEMENTS FOR 5 MINUTES AND BEING A CITIZEN OF INDIA AND KERALA, I PERSONALLY COULD NOT WITNESS THE MARTIAL ARTS OF KERALA AND A FEW OTHER THINGS LIKE VILLAGE CULTURE ETC. FROM BEGINNING ITSELF THERE WAS FULL OF ADVERTISEMENTS. THE EVENT WAS LIKE A BREAK BETWEEN THE ADVERTISEMENTS.

BY DOING SO, U PEOPLE DID NOT RECOGNIZE THAT THE WHOLE NATION IS WATCHING THE PROGRAMME AND DOORDARSHAN IS THE ONLY CHANNEL WHICH SHOWS THE LIVE TELECAST.

IF THIS IS THE CASE, IN THE COMING DAYS THE CHANNEL WOULD SHOW ADVERTISEMENTS WHEN AN ATHLETE IS ABOUT TO FINISH THE RACE OR WHEN THE SHOOTERS FIRE A BULLET AND THE BULLET REACHES THE HALF WAY. WE WON’T BE ABLE TO SEE THE RESULT THEN.

PLEASE CUT SHORT THE ADVERTISEMENTS OR JUST REJECT SHOWING ADVERTISEMENTS FOR AN EVENT LIKE THIS ATLEAST IN FUTURE. REMEMBER THAT WE HAVE THE CHANCE OF HOSTING THE OLYMPIC GAMES.

    THANK YOU,

    Thomas S

  11. Starting with begining, we all know what world was takin about CWG corruption in India, kalmadi et al and others were equally involved in curruption,(& yes! they are to some extent), should not they punished for that after the end of CWG delhi. but ok ! we’ll discuss about all these after all our guest will have gone to their nations.

now! who is there who hadnt enjoyed the ceremony? well!! im not from them.
I really really enjoyed the opeing ceremony specially the traditional drummer groups, 7 yrs old tabla master, hariharan & what about those school children who quicky in a minute made colorful MEHENDI in white canvas and that too, beneath canvas(or cloth whatever).. there was nothing which went wrong in creation of that art so heartly congrats to those delhi school children..

AR Rehman was again there to thrill everybody. however CWG theme song could be more better( it looks somethng like artists AR havent worked out well for music and what came on mind, they had just put the lyrics on that music).

Dress/uniform wore by Indian sportsman crew was not only traditional but also very fashionble( better than rajashani yellow pagadi plus sherwani & others) . Color was also good and Indian girls are looking awesome in saari( takin about those who had flags of different nations).

about AEROSTAT which several have reported that it was first time to include in any sports ceremony( really!!!) , if it s true,, then really INDIA, u need not to look to others, now everyone will look at u and compare u with their events. Reflections and graphics on aerostat was appearing as if we re dreaming and several colorful pictures are coming in our mind. wow!!

allover, it was a amazing ceremony and hope that next few days till the end of this event would go in similar fashion and our GUESTS would say: INDIA ! u make me happy….

  12. Great and Wonderful Opening Ceremony ….

BUT !!! dont forget that, this show costed million and billion of dollars to us…… .and, more counting…. &%%$@@#%&* :- ((

The money which could have been used to provide aids to underprivileged people has been wasted on this “pomp and show”. A poor or developing country should first fulfil basic needs of its citizens then re-creational activities should come. Our first preference should be Good Health Services for all and eradication of poverty and Hunger of 60% the of population which is BELOW POVERTY LINE.
Whenever I am on the Traffic Light it reminds me that this ceremony was on the cost of hunger and basic nees of a needy and bare begger, labor class and innocent citizens of India….

Whenever I am passing through a village it comes to my mind that … the villagers could have seen the electric light too, besides the sunlight….

Right now, we are in dream… Is the entrie world unaware of the condition of 60% Indian population? If we leave this ceremony and look at other fields, can we compare ouselves with developed countries hypothetically and only in words?

Let’s come out of this dream….It will be good for all citizens of INDIA the great!!
