Winner of Australian open 2010 Women’s singles – Serena Williams

Today Just few minutes back Serena Williams defeated Justine Henin in the finals of Australian open 2010 women’s singles finals. She defeated Henin in three sets 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 in Rod Laver Arena today. World number one Serena Williams despite losing the second set managed to retain the title to her and won the third set with much ease 6-2.

This victory of Serena has brought her 12th Grand Slam Singles titles of her career. And she equals now Billie Jean King in sixth place on the all-time Grand Slam Women’s singles title list. She today won her back to back title by defeating Belgian comeback queen Justine Henin in the finals in Melbourne Park today.

Before the beginning of the match, it was being speculated that Serena will retain her title ans she does well in bringing all speculation comes true. Definitely she was in much form than Henin who has just left Tennis and made a quick comeback for this Grand Slam.

Serena once again proved that with aggressiveness and strength one can do anything she want. William’s sister Venus has already lost in the quarterfinals and never made to the finals. Thanks God, we were not watching both sisters again in the ground.

Today Serena Williams world number one tennis player will take on comeback queen Justine Henin in Aiustralian Open Woman’s singles finals live from Rod Laver Arena. This women’s finals has been scheduled at 19:30 local time in Melbourne.

As per the past stat and current performance, Serena Williams is in hit list to win the game, but nevertheless its a match of uncertainty and can’t be predicted before the match.

Serena Williams struggled very hard to defeat Na Li of China by 7-6, 7-6, while Justine Henin thrashed her opponent again chinese Jie Zheng 6-1, 6-0. So as per previous performance now odd will be in henin favor. But whoever it will be, this match is gonna rock.

Watch Federer vs Murray live in Australian Open men’s finals

Today in the second semifinals of the Australian Open tennis Tournament, Federer easily defeated Tsonga on straight three sets. He defeated Tsongs 6-2, 6-3, 6-2. Federer will meet Great Britain rank 5 Andy Murray in the men’s finals.

While in the first semifinal match of Australian Open 2010, Murray defeated Murray Cilic in straight four sets. And now he will face the toughest opponent of earth in the finals of the series.

With a decent number of win and past performance, Federer is the hot favorite ti win yet another grand slam. But Murray has also shown consistent performance in the whole series by defeating every giant in his way, the way he was leading against Nadal shows his hunger to win this Grand Slam.

So , whether Murray is going to stop the winning streak of Federer in finals and stop the reign of terror of Federer. Anyhow mystery will unveil only at the final at Rod Laver Arena ground.

Andy Murray told the reporters that – he is not going to fear with his strong opponent and He is obviously going to be the tougher opponent in a Grand Slam final but I don’t know who it will be yet, so I am just focusing on trying to be calm and focus on finals and sort the tactics out.

Tsonga vs Federer – Can Tsonga do this

Australian Open second semifinals will begin today at 19:30 Melbourne time. French Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will meet World Number one in the final clash. So the question arises, can he do this, can he beat him and assure the title for him.

Zheng and Henin in semifinals – kirilenko out

Today Justin Henin defeated Nadia Petrova to become the first women to enter the semis in this Australian Open 2010. Petrova gave a good fight, but anyhow Henin won in two straight sets 7-6(3) 7-5. The other biggest upset occurred when Jie Zheng of China defeated Maria Kirilenko of Russia in simple straight two sets. She thrashed Kirilenko by 6-1, 6-5.

Jie Zheng became the first Chinese to way ever goto semis of Australian Open. And the way she defeated Kirilenko, it seems this time she is another big mountain to cross. In 2008, she also managed to enter into the semis first time into Grand Slam playing Single in Wimbledon. ABout four year ago she has paired with Yan ZI to win the first ever Grand Slam for their most populous country.

And Henin Hardin dream to win the championship looks possible as their only two hindrance her way to get her next Grand Slam. With the score Card its obvious to get that she had a good clash with Petrova, but anyhow she managed to move one step ahead. After coming out of retirement, this was her second match and she managed too book her seat in last four in race of Australian open Women Championship.

After the loss of Petrova and Kirilenko, now there will be no Russian in Women’s Race for Championship. Since 2004, there was at least one Russian in last four in Australian Open.
